How to Prevent Sun Spots on Kids

Who doesn’t love the summer? Young ones make some of their best moments during summer, but be sure to protect your young ones from the sun with mineral sunscreen from Alba Botanica or Earth Mama Organics.

Sun spots stay on the skins of kids for a long time and there are several easy steps in which your kids could be protected from the sun and they could keep making beautiful memories.

How to Prevent Spots from the Sun on Kids

To begin, get the best sunscreen to use on your child, get a lotion instead of a spray which has at least 40 SPF for a time you could want to go swimming. Make sure the lotion is water-resistant. Lotions make a barrier in which the sun won’t be able to hit the skin of your kids. While sprays use a chemical barrier. But using sprays you could miss an important spot where you could get burned by the sun and create a sunspot. But lotions create a barrier that lasts longer with increased coverage.

Make using sunscreen a habit in your family. Make it a part of their dressing methods. It should also be applied to their ears and feet. Do not overlook any part of their outer body, that could easily get burnt by the sun and create a sunspot.

You should apply sunscreen thoroughly before jumping in the pool or going outside. This gives the sunscreen time to create a barrier on the skin before you could get burnt. Once you get to the beach, pool, or outside and the kids start playing, that could be too late to apply the sunscreen. And before the sunscreen can fully dry the young ones are already sweating or swimming it off. This is the importance of putting the sunscreen early to prevent sun spots on your kids.

Make sure your kids are dressed up to be protected from the sun. Their faces should be protected using a hat. Rash guards could be used at the pool or on the beach and think of long sleeves when it is time to go outside.

When kids go playing at the houses of their friends, they are at higher risks of getting burnt. It is simply a sign of not having full awareness. The homeowner might not know how to protect their kids from being burnt by the sun and getting sun spots. Or their kids might not enjoy the feeling of sunscreen on their skins. Make sure you talk with the adults around for them to know about sunscreen and what you expect.

The skin of your kid is quite precious. You should protect time from the sun to prevent sun spots because their skin would stay safe at the moment and for years to come. This would also protect your kids from getting skin cancer as an adult. Which serves as more reasons why you shouldn’t take sunspots as a joke while protecting the skin of your kids.

Top 3 Star Wars Movies

“Star Wars” is the creation of George Lucas. George Lucas is the iconic creator of not only the “Star Wars” universe but also the Indiana Jones character. Although the “Indiana Jones flicks” are really popular, most people know him through the “Star Wars” franchise.

In 1977, Lucas released the first “Star Wars” movie, not knowing how much impact it would have. It became the highest-grossing film at that time and the movie also won six Oscars. The cult following the franchise inspired is massive. In celebration of the inspiration and joy the “Star Wars” series has brought us, here are our top 3 “Star Wars” movies.

  1. Star Wars Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back (1980)

This is in our opinion, the best “Star Wars” movie for several reasons. The first reason is that it has really good production, as well as editing. This movie was very realistic and grim, for some it was too grim. However, it gave the “Star Wars” universe a lot more depth. “The Empire Strikes Back” played a pivotal role in the “Star Wars” universe, because it was the second part of a trilogy, which means it needed to hold the first and third movies together – which it did.

  1. Star Wars Episode IV – A New Hope (1977)

There is usually a tie between “A New Hope” and “The Empire Strikes Back” for first place in lists like this one. Some critics think “A New Hope” should be the best film, because it paved the way for “The Empire Strikes Back.” “A New Hope” is more than just a good film. After all, this is the movie that started it all. This is the movie that brought Lucas to the limelight, but in our opinion, “The Empire Strikes Back” is slightly better. “A New Hope” is a wonderful movie that defied the odds and continues to inspire fans of the franchise.

  1. Star Wars Episode VI – Return of the Jedi (1983)

If it wasn’t already obvious that we favored the first trilogy, then it is now. “Return of the Jedi” belongs in the top 3 “Star Wars” movies, because it is a great conclusion to the masterpiece of the first trilogy. It ends on a more positive note, the set design is wonderful and it is satisfying to watch Luke Skywalker gain confidence. Some people may not agree with this choice, but we stand by it.

There are several ways to look at the ranking of the “Star Wars” movies. We chose to rank them according to how much we liked them, but you could also rank them according to how much they made in the box office. In this case, The Force Awakens would come in first place.

In conclusion, these are our top 3 “Star Wars” movies. If you have never seen a “Star Wars” movie, you should definitely start with the original trilogy. If you’re a “Star Wars” fan, let us know your top 3 “Star Wars” movies!

Our Thoughts on How President Trump Handled the COVID-19 Pandemic

There are a number of economists that are of the opinion that the coming election may not be favorable to President Donald Trump based on how he handled the COVID-19 pandemic. Here’s why.

Unemployment is High

Currently, over 33 million Americans have filed for unemployment and this seems to be affecting how the country is functioning. Everyone seems to be running to be hills while they try to stop the spread of COVID-19.

It is expected that a global recession will follow.

If we said that Donald Trump handled this COVID-19 well, we would be lying. He started by believing that this was a hoax, and it won’t affect Americans.

In the end, Americans are now ranked as the highest infected humans in the world, beating Chinese, and Italians. It is a shame because when it started out, no measures were placed to curb the spread.

Recently, the rate at which this virus had wrecked the economy could easily be seen in the country, as more than 33 million Americans filed for unemployment insurance since COVID-19 hit. This is something that is unprecedented. It is more than five times the amount that was filed in 1982, and it is scary.

It is expected that this number will grow before the issue blows over.

The Political Climate

Now, the political landscape has been altered, as the elections are coming. This may affect how the upcoming 2020 presidential elections turn out. A lot of politicians may have to lose their seats as a result of how the economy is changing.

As we are facing an impending recession in America and the world in general, it is believed that some questions may come up. At the end of the day, are we going to blame Trump for the impending recession? Will he be blamed for a lot of Americans losing their jobs?

Will voters believe that he is truly a wartime president that can rule them properly during this time or not? Will Joe Biden be able to work on those uncertainties and weaknesses? Will he be able to sway the thoughts of the voters to him instead of the current president?

A lot of people have different thoughts concerning this, and it seems that these thoughts may not be favoring Trump. This is not far from the fact that people feel that it was the fault of Trump. He was not proactive in making measures initially, but this seems to be changing.

He is interested in signing a Congress’s $2.2 trillion aid package to ensure that the economy doesn’t collapse. This was created by Steven Mnuchin, his treasury secretary, but Trump takes the glory. So what do you think will happen when Election Day rolls around?

What You Need to Know About Probiotics and Lyme Disease

Probiotics play an important role in the body. They could help in clamp down on inflammation in the body. They could ensure gut health is protected. They could even ensure that the immune system is supported.

There are a number of things that you should know about probiotics and Lyme disease, because the use of healthy bacteria is important in the world of medicine. A lot of health practitioners are recommending the use of probiotics in the treatment of Lyme disease. This is why it won’t be a bad idea to learn more about probiotics and Lyme disease.

What are Probiotics?

Probiotics are helpful live microorganisms known as “good bacteria.” It is important that you understand how bacteria act when in your body. You can find them in your mucosa and even on your skin. In your gut, there are a thousand different kinds of bacteria living there. The same amount lives on your skin.

It is believed that the population of bacteria in humans are more than the total numbers of humans in existence. In your large intestines, there are numerous kinds of bacteria residing there. In a healthy bowel, you will see trillions of microorganisms reading there.

For a long time, bacteria have been seen as things that are bad. They feel that they are linked to decay, death, disease or dirt. People don’t feel that anything good can come from bacteria.  We are not saying that bacteria do not cause diseases and death. They do, but there are some that are beneficial to one’s health.

Only around 10 percent of bacteria in existence are actually harmful. The others are seen as good in aiding the digestion of food, protecting the body from pathogens that cause disease, and even help support the immune system.

Apart from treating Lyme disease, probiotics can be used in the treatment of allergies, diarrhea, vaginal yeast infections, and urinary tract infections. They can also be used in the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome, intestinal infections, leaky gut symptoms, cold and flu, and so much more.

Kids can even use them for the treatment of symptoms linked to eczema. You should consider talking to your doctor before using any supplements or similar products, but if  you have Lyme disease and want to use the best of probiotics, you should consider using Lyme Plus by DesBio or Lyme X by Nutritional Frontiers.

Worst Albums of 2019

Amidst all the amazing albums we had in 2019, some couldn’t make the consideration list of good albums. 2019 was filled with a lot of good albums that kept us entertained, but some fell more than short. They were disappointing, and we say they shouldn’t have been released at all. Why put effort into an album people can’t vibe to?

After going through a long list of albums released in 2019, we can say that these are the worst albums of 2019, in our opinion.

Six Worst Albums of 2019

1.     Confession of a Dangerous Mind by Logic

This album from Logic is nothing but an emo mess. The album is full of shoddy songs of Logic trying to be down for himself, but it didn’t do for us. He tried to be self-aware in this album, sadly, the desperation to prove this made a mess of it. Confession of a Dangerous Mind isn’t different from what we hear him sing every time. This album seems like something that wasn’t well thought about. We probably would have been good with Logic’s music without this album.

2.     LP1 by Liam Payne

LP1 put Liam Payne in the light of a pop star flailing to find himself in the pop culture. The album is filled with half baked lyrics with no depth. Liam Payne tried to keep a safe identity on this album, but it is vividly not the best for him. Even though he has a charming voice, he lacked charisma on this album. LP1 is a selection of safe but uninspired songs. It is unfortunate that Payne couldn’t even use pop to communicate the most basic emotions. Just maybe, he should have risked more on this.

3.     Woptober II by Gucci Mane

As an artist with a solid legacy, Woptober II was highly unnecessary. He should have skipped this album to focus on some more relevant work. How did he think bringing in Kodak Black’s verses was a good idea? It didn’t make any difference because the album remains one of the worst albums of 2019. A highly irrelevant one at every mention.

4.     Bad Vibes Forever by XXXTentacion

For an artist that wants to conquer all genres, this album didn’t go well. Bad Vibes Forever did not show any new dimension in his style of songwriting. There was no larger artistic dimension. The album lacked cohesion. Even the features didn’t help. It was just a line up of jumbled songs. This album weakened XXXTentacion’s art.

5.     I Also Want To Die In New Orleans by Sun Kil Moon

From the blurry image of a cat and the album title, you can tell that Sun Kil Moon just didn’t care much about this album. The songs were inconsequential, full of circuitous dialogues, and winding emotional tales. It just has to be ranked as a worst album of 2019.

6.     Miscreant by Sueco The Child

The 22 years old rapper gave the most outrageous sex lyrics on this album. Miscreant was a flop that could have been prevented from happening.

Texting versus Talking: How We are Dumbing Down Our Relationships

Communication is one of the tenets of a healthy relationship, but it’s quite sad that a lot of people are not communicating the right way. The issue of texting versus talking is one of the biggest pitfalls in relationships. A lot of us have comfortably replaced taking with texting, forgetting that they play different roles.

Texting has become a primary mode of communication in relationships because it is convenient. It is both a good thing and a bad thing. It can help to develop a strong connection in your relationship, but it’s bad if you ditch talking for texting. There is a problem when you feel comfortable with texting alone.

Talking helps to understand true feelings. You can easily detect how a person feels from the rise and fall of their tone. Anyone can text behind a phone due to loneliness or boredom, but talking to someone in person about your real feelings and fears is different.

Texting versus Talking: When to Text

·       You can text your partner when you want to pass a light compliment.

·       Text when you are in a noisy place, meeting, or where the other person can’t talk.

·       Text when you are communicating about logistics (i.e., where to meet, time, or when you are running late).

·       Text when you want to share a photo.

When to Talk

·       Call or talk in person when you are angry or want to tender an apology.

·       Call or talk in person when you want to say an appreciation or express your love for them.

·       Call or talk in person about how much you miss them.

·       Call or talk in person when you want to have a serious conversation.

Why You Should Do More of Talking than Texting

Talking feels more real than texting. You know what they sound like. You know if they have a funny accent. Talking feels more human, while texting feels robotic. There are lots of unusual mistakes that can go unnoticed between spellcheck and Siri while texting.

Texting is a horrible mode to settle a conflict. Texting is hostile to conflict resolution. Never do it. Words can be misinterpreted when we can’t hear the tone of the other person’s voice. Texting is more accusatory, because it doesn’t have a tone. The other person may read your text according to their mood, and anger escalates from that. If you want to resolve conflicts with your partner, you should either call them or meet up in person.

Talking strengthens connection. You can build a great connection and vibe through talking rather than texting. Texting can be monotonous and stale after a while, but there is dynamism in talking. The sound of chuckles and giggles can help you build a stronger connection. Enough of “LOL.”

Texting is not a tool for long conversations. It’s wrong to hold a long conversation through texts. Sending long texts can be annoying to the person at the receiving end. Consider if they do not have so much time to attend to your lengthy text. The best way to have long conversations is through talking. Meet up or call them rather than give them an epistle to read.

Conclusively, we have to stop dumbing down our relationship by hiding behind the screen. We should learn to talk more.

My Thoughts on the Greta Thunberg Controversy and Climate Change

Greta Thunberg is a 17-year-old climate activist who got the inspiration to fight climate change at a young age. She has a lot to say about climate, politics, and cultural issues. Thunberg is a leading voice for millions of people all over the world. She became conscious of climate and the greenhouse effect when she was just 8-years-old and has since then stood up for the cause.

Who is Greta Thunberg?

Thunberg’s interest in climate soon paid off as she was named the face of climate change activism, and the 2019 TIME Person of the Year. She started by airing simple messages about climate to a thousand people, but these messages inspired millions of people around the globe. She has led numerous climate strikes and has given speeches that spread across the internet.

Thunberg’s view on climate change is that humanity is going through an existential crisis that will have a disproportionate effect on young people. She claims this effect will affect the future of the young generation, or there possibly won’t be a future at all. She detests that global warming will rob the young generation of a future due to the actions of the current generation of adults.

There are many remarkable things about this teenager. One of them is how bluntly she speaks. She bluntly accuses business and political leaders of not taking expected actions about climate change. She speaks about their failure to work together and take action about climate change.

What Does Greta Thunberg Want?

Her climate change activism began in her home and school until she moved on to the Swedish government. Thunberg didn’t stop there, as she urged students in different countries to also take on the protest and get their countries to do better.

She spoke at international summits on the need for government to cut global emissions. Thunberg wants banks, firms, and governments to cut their investment subsidy on fossil fuels- coal, oil, and gas. She said they should rather invest in research, existing sustainable technology, and importantly, in restoring nature.

Here is What We Think

We understand the young climate change activist and her concerns about the effect. We won’t fail to agree that the blame is on the most powerful corporations in the world. However, there is a probability that many of her policies are misguided. Many of the powerful politicians who seem to support her movement are deeply involved and invested in many industries fueling the greenhouse effect.

Thunberg’s proposed policy of heavy carbon taxes may not significantly affect the fossil fuel industry. It can only make the cost of business operations a little higher, leaving average car owners to pay the real cost. So, this policy doesn’t seem good enough. However, Thunberg’s heart and mind are in the right place. We just need some more potential solutions to fix the global climate issue.
